20 Weeks and Dr. appointment

IT'S A GIRL!!!!

We had our ultrasound and Dr appointment on Tuesday and we are having a GIRL. All looks good and she weighs around 11 ounces which is right on tract according to the Doctor. Other than that Dr appointment went well I had gained another 1 1/2 pounds and she is pleased with the weight gain so far and blood pressure still looked good. She was very active during the ultrasound. It took awhile to get some of the measurements that they needed because everytime the tech would get what she needed to see then she would move again. Looks like we are going to have an active baby I hope she doesn't get all of her daddy's energy level.
We do not have a name picked out yet but I will be sure to post it when we decide on. We have a few we like but nothing definite yet. Now starts the fun of deciding on all of the stuff we want to get!!!!
Nothing else big has been happening since the last post. But I will try to get some new pictures added to this post this weekend.

Week 19

Wow another week has come and gone and we now almost halfway thru this pregnancy already. We only have 4 more days til the big ultrasound day, everyone keep your fingers crossed that peanut will cooperate and we will be to announce what we are having.

Well I have to admit this has been a pretty hard week for physically and emotionally. I had to go in for an unscheduled visit on Wed because I was having numbness and tingling in my right thigh and sometime down to my foot but she said everything seemed out but suggested I see a chiropractor to get my back hips back in alignment and see if that helps these feels. So I have an appointment Monday and we will if it helps. I have also been having more of my stretching pains. I think today I may have had my first quickening experience but I'm still not 100% it was movements and not just gas or belly rumbles.

Looks like we have another busy weekend planned but that seems to be the story of our lives but we love it. Here are a few updated pictures of my growing belly. Maybe next week we will have pic of some more baby items we have purchased!!

Week 18 Update

Well I am now 18 weeks along. We only have 10 more days til the next doctor's appointment and the ultrasound. Let's hope "peanut" cooperates so that we will be able to find out what we are having.

I don't know why but this week I have been very very tired most of the week. By Thursday I was so tired I thought I was going to fall asleep at work. I have also had some of what I am calling stretching pains this week. I think it is round ligament pain but I'm calling them my stretching pains. Other than these few things it has been a pretty unchanging week.

We did take a trip to Nashville this weekend and did buy our first baby item check out the post Weekend in Nashville for all the details.

I don't have any updated pictures this week but I can't tell much if any change. Will try to have some next update

Weekend in Nashville

This weekend we went to Nashville for a weekend getaway. We stayed at Brentwood Suites which is really nice and kind of out away from the busyness of Nashville. We had tickets the Titans vs Bucs preseason game at LP Field Saturday night.

So before the game of course I got some shopping time in at Opry Mills. And it's now official I bought our first baby item. It's a piggy bank that says "Born to be a Gator's Fan". We love it.

We also went and saw The Good's Saturday afternoon. The movie was a lot better than I thought it was going to be and was really funny. We had to see this while we were in Nashville because for some reason it didn't make it to the Madisonville theatre this week.

Now for the game. We had really good seats we were almost in the middle of the end zone 10 rows off the field. We got to the game early and were able to watch the Bucs do all of their warm drills and practices right in front of us. The first two quarters were really good for the Bucs there defense was stopping the Titans everytime and only allowed 2 field goals. The Bucs were ahead at half-time 9 to 6. Then the Titans came back in the 3rd and 4th quarter with an interception that was returned for a touchdown. All 4 of Tampa Bay's quarterbacks who played did a really good job but we didn't get to see them do a lot of long passes mostly played a running game.

Since this was the first home game for the Titans we were able to see the memorial contribution and the moment of silence for Steve McNair.

MORE BIG NEWS

So the Hogg family is just full of big and exciting news this year. As I’m sure most of you already know WE ARE EXPECTING!! I am currently 17 weeks along and have had a pretty easy time so far. Not really had any morning sickness or really any sickness at all. I have been nauseous at night some put nothing a few crackers and some sleep does not cure.

I know it’s a late start but I will try to update my blog fairly regularly with how things are going, pictures and especially if we find out what we are having.

I did go to the doctor on Tuesday of this week for just the basic 3 week check-up. I gained 1 pound in 3 weeks and she said my blood pressure was good. Baby’s heart beat was 138 (interrupt that how you want on your predictions as to what we are having). I will post a couple of pictures also for this week. I am still waiting to feel those first kicks but she said it is still probably to early yet but it should be soon.

Well everyone check back often and hope to have more updates for everyone who wants to keep up the progress

Weekend in Louisville

The weekend of July 17 we went to Louisville for the weekend. We had never really been to Louisville except to go to the malls a couple of times so we decided this week a nice weekend get away and would be something new for us to go and do. So we found a good weekend special for the Galt House Hotel. The Galt House is located right by the river and is within walking distance to alot of different attractions and things to do.

So we arrive at the Galt House Friday night around 9:30 or so there time and checked-in. When they told us our room number and how to get to it I knew this was going to be lots of fun. Our room was river view and was located on the 23rd floor. Yes 23rd floor. Wade is not a big of heights so when we first looked out our window it took him some time to get adjusted to the view. Our view from this room was very nice

So Saturday after we had the breakfast buffet at the hotel it was time to head out for the day. We decided since the weather was super nice for the middle of July (only in the low to mid 70's) that we would go to the Zoo. We could not have a made a better decision. The zoo in Louisville was very nice and it was really big. We saw all kinds of different animals and got to get a closer view than you do at most zoo's. Also since the weather was so nice I think that really helped with the being able to see the animals moving around. We spent several hours at the zoo and it felt like we walked forever.

After the zoo we went back to hotel and walked along the river. We ate lunch at Joe's Crab Shack on the river. We both had different steam pots and shared a dessert. After lunch we rested at the hotel before we got to go the mall's and Kohl's. We can't go anywhere without some time to shop. It was a GREAT weekend.

Wade's Birthday

So June 12th was Wade's 27th Birthday. So he can now no longer call me an old woman at least until January. We did not celebrate really big this year because we had just gotten thru the wedding and had not been back from the Honeymoon even a week yet. So we went out to eat and Wade got to pick out something that he wanted for his birthday because I didn't have alot of time to come up with a surprise.

The Honeymoon

For our Honeymoon we went Disney World (I know that's a big shock to everyone), our favorite vacation spot. We stayed for at the Carribean Beach in the South Trinadad building. The hotel was very nice. Each area had there own small pull with a big main pool and whirlpool at the food court. We were very surprised that the small pool in our area was never very busy so we were able to enjoy what time we spent there. We stayed in a Pirates room which meant that our beds looked like pirate ships and everything in the room had something to do with pirates. I will post pictures it was a neat experience. We stayed for 7 nights and I really don't think we were ready to come home then.

The parks were not to bad considering it was the first of June. The longest waits of course are at the most popular rides such as Test Track, Soarn, Safari in Animal Kingdom and of course all of the roller coasters. We definitely took advantage of the fast passes and night time extended hours to be able to get more rides in.

We were on the Disney Dining Plan so we ate very well while we were. We went to a lot restaurants that we had never been to before including Chef Mickey, T-Rex, the German restaurant in Epcot, Garden Grill and Spoodles plus our favorites Liberty Tree and ESPN Club. We can not say that we ever went hungry even with all of the walking we did around all of the parks.

We did not go to either of the water parks this trip but we did play putt-putt golf at WinterSummerland golf. It was a fun but unfortunately I have to admit the Wade beat me pretty bad at it.
One day while we were they we left Disney and drove over to Cape Canaverial and went to the Kenndy Space Station and Cocoa Beach. The Space Station was something unlike anything we had ever seen before. We got to see an actual space shuttle and we got to see the most recent shuttle launched already on the pad getting final preparations for lift off. It was well worth the drive.

The Wedding

May 30,2009. This was the finally our wedding day. We had been waiting a long time for this get here but I have to say it was well worth the wait. We had very beautiful and very special day. We had the wedding at the Madisonville Church of Christ, which is where I have gone to church since I was 4 years old. Our theme was double-hearts interlocked. Our color's were purple, white, and silver.

Our wedding party was: Matron of Honor- Cherish Cosby (my sister), Best Man- Anthony Dipietro Bride's Maids- Tiffany Burton and Mandy Major, Groom's Men- Adam Horn and Marc Erickson, Ring-Bearer- Kelby Cosby(my nephew), Flower Girl- Whitney Burton and Officiant- Russell Kline.

My dress was a strapless dress that was fitted at the top then flowed down to the floor with a train. The back of the dress looked like there were buttons all the way from the top of the dress to the end of the train. I got it from David's Bridal, it was very pretty. The Bride's Maides wore Victorian Liliac dresses from David's Bridal with silver shoes. There dresses were floor length with a little bit of bead work and an envelope back. We got all of the Tuxes from the Rose Parlor. Wade's Tux was all black with a black shirt and vest. It did not have a tie but a silver button at the very top of the shirt without a foldover collar. The Groom's Men wore black tuxes with white button up shirts and black neck ties.
Our flowers were in an array of purples with a few white and pink flowers for added color. My mom I have to say saved me a ton of money and stress because she made all of the arrangements and I could not have asked for anything more beautiful. I know she spent a lot of time and effort on them but everyone LOVED them.

Our photographer was Melody Rickard. I have to say she takes very good pictures and she took a lot of them. I could not have asked for better photos the remember this special day. We are having a very hard time deciding between them now that is the only down fall to such great pictures.

The reception was held in the church basement with the tables decorated in white table clothes with a wide purple ribbon running down the center of the table. All of the tables connected together to form a U around the room. On the tables were square mirrors set at a diamond with a purple or silver candle in the middles and wedding confetti on the mirrors and table. The tables on each end of the U had Wedding Cake Candles in the middle with confetti around them. In the middle of theU we had our Wedding Party table with flowers in the middles and round mirrors on stands that had the double-hearts interlocked etched on them with our name and Wedding Date on each end.

And finally the cake. We had the cake made by Kroger and it was called Basket of Love with Purple flowers. The groom's cake was a white sheet cake with buttercream icing with a Florida Gator head in the middle of the cake (I know who would have guessed it but we did find a way to incorporate something Gator's into the wedding). The cake's were delicious.
