18 month update continued

Ailise went for her 18 month checkup on Tuesday and her are her stats
Height 32 3/4 inches
Weight 28 lbs make a few ounces less but she would not but down here Elmo and Blues Clues.

Overall Dr McEntire said that she is growing good and is a healthy little girl. Her tubes still looked good and everything looked and sounded good.


Some updates from the past month that I forgot to put in the last post. Ailise got to spend a little over two weeks with her Great Granny during the days. Wade's grandmother was at his mom and dads house for a little over two weeks. It seems like Ailise and her great granny got to become big buddies while she was here.

Ailise loves to dance still, but now she likes to dance like Elmo. She has a few Elmo DVDs that she watches at MeMe's during the day and one of the Elmo dances on the moon. It is so funny to watch when she dances like Elmo.

Sone more words that Ailise tries to say are turtle, if u say ready set then she will say GO, boo, hot and cold.

She also likes to jump. The funny part is that she never leaves the ground. She bends down really low and jumps up.

Ailise can show you where her toes, tongue, nose, ears, belly, hands and sometime her eyes are. Sometime she has problems getting directly on her eyes but she she is usually really close by, I think she is afraid to touch her eyes.

She stills for me to sing If your happy and you know and Ring around the rosey.

Busy Saturday this weekend.

We had a very busy and fun filled Saturday this weekend. The day started out with Ailise and I travelling to Paducah with my mom for a baby shower for my cousin. There were a lot of people at the shower and Ailise wanted to show off for all of them. Like always she wanted to be the center of attention. She was not the center of attention but she was def a highly watched side show. There was another little girl at the show that was 3 almost 4 that Ailise had a blast playing with. PJ was a very cute little girl and she was so small but Ailise loved her and loved playing with her. We got to see some of our extended family that we do not get to see very often so Ailise really showed off for them.

After the shower I wanted to run to a few stores before we headed home and of course on our way to Kohls Ailise falls asleep in the car. My offered to sit in the car with her while I ran in to make my return. Well I was in a few minutes longer than planned because they have the toddler clearance section right beside customer service and I had several coupons to use. So I had to stop and look for a few minutes and picked up several shirts to put up for next summer for Ailise. I can not believe that stores already have summer stuff on clearance, its only the first of July. The other stop I wanted to make was Toy R Us. They were having some of there Fisher Prices toys buy one get one free so I was super excited I had seen three of four things on the website that I wanted to pick up and put away for Christmas. Well they are in the process of remodeling and the store was a mess everything in it was covered in dust and there was very very little to choose from. Very disappointed by this stop.

After we got back to Madisonville we had plans to meet Wade's mom and dad and his Aunt Susan and Tony for dinner. His aunt Susan and Tony were in town on there way back to Madison Indiana from vacation. We do not get to see them very often either and they have only seen Ailise in person one other time and that was back in November. So of course Ailise has changed a ton since then. We all meet at #9 Steakhouse and had a really good dinner. After dinner we all went back to Wade's mom and dads for a little while to visit and watch Ailise play and swing. This visit was cut shorter than we had planned because Ailise got super super whiny and grouchy so we had to head home so that she could get a bath and get ready for bed.

It was a GREAT day and was a busy but we loved seeing so many family members that we do not get to spend a lot of time with. We used Sunday to rest and relax it was to hot to do much of anything else, including swimming.

18 months can it really be already!

I know I say this alot but oh my goodness I can not believe that our little girl is 18 months old today, that is a year and half old and means the next few months we be getting closer and closer to 2. I have to admit I have taken today pretty hard. I really don't know why Ailise's turning 18 months old is hitting me so hard but it is. I would almost venture to say that today has been hard for me then the day that she turned one. The only reason I can think of for this is because she if officially NOT a baby anymore and she will tell you that and she is well into being a toddler. It feels like she should still be laying in my arms all the time and needing us to do everything for her, but she is not she is a very active very independent little girl now.
Ok sorry about that emotional breakdown. Now on to what has happened in this past month. I have to be honest it has went by so fast I am def afraid I am going to forget to tell about something. I will probably end up making two 18 month entries because Ailise goes for her check up next Tuesday so I will update with all of her stats from that for sure.
This past month we have celebrated Wade's 29th birthday, Father's Day and the 4th of July. I can not believe Wade and I are already 29. Man I am starting to sound. But 29 is that bad and I have to say Wade is def still a kid at heart. This was his birthday cake that I got him and he LOVED it!

For his Birthday we had cake and then we went out to my dads and swam. It was alot of fun and Ailise loves to go swimming at her papaw's. We have gotten swimming several weekend already this summer and she loves it and is always worn out afterward.

For Father's Day I made Wade a photo collage and framed it with just pictures of him and Ailise in it. It said Happy Fathers Day 2011. I forgot to get a picture of it before he took it to work with him for his office. We also got him a new electric razor, which he was completely surprised by. YEAH me finally pulled off a surprise!!!

The Fourth of July was a much needed long weekend at our house. We actually stayed home all weekend but we still did not get a lot of rest. Saturday we were planning on going swimming but needed to make a quick stop at Lowes for a couple small things. Well an hour and half later and way more money than we had went in planning to spend we are now painting the bathrooms our house. Saturday Wade painted our Master bath seaside blue which is really pretty. Then Sunday he decided he would go ahead and paint Ailise's bathroom, I'm not really sure of the color name but it is a Sahara orange color it looks really pretty. We had originally planned to take Ailise to Owensboro Sunday night for fireworks but a storm came in and they were cancelled. Monday Wade and I went to a matinee and saw the new Transformers. It was a good movie.

We also went shopping in Evansville on day. It was fun day and Ailise was really good. She now wants to walk when we go to the mall which can the outing a tad bit longer but still fun. We ate at TGI Fridays and she was very good and ate really good she ate almost an entire kids chicken skewers with oranges. Of course after we ate she had to ride the carousel.

Now on to what Ailise has been up to this past month.

** Her vocabulary is really starting to expand and she is trying more and more to put mutiple words together. She will try to repeat everything that you say to her. Some things you can make out pretty good and others not so much. Some of her things to say are:

noodle 

yogurt

car

happy

excuse me

oscar

yeah

There are more put I can not seem to think of them right now.

** Sleeping is going better the last few weeks we have finally seemed to get a good schedule down and most week nights she is sleeping from 8 to 7 or 730 and on the weekends we have not been hearing her til after 9 most weekend mornings. We are really enjoying her finally getting more sleep and she is an even happier little girl than normal with the extra sleep. She usually only takes one nap a day and it varies anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and half and on rare occasions 2 hours.

** She is still a really good eater and loves just about anything that we give her. She is getting very independent with eating. Ailise has gotten pretty good at using her fork and spoon both and she loves using them. Ailise loves to eat fruit. Last night she ate a whole large banana with her dinner.

** Ailise is finally starting to enjoy brushing her teeth. She will let me brush them for a few minutes then she want to do it by herself. Once she started watching Blue's Clues Bedtime Business episode she started brushing her teeth without a fight. If I had only known that a few months ago. 

** Bathtime is still a blast. I think she would enjoy any part of a daily routine that involved water. She never gives us any problem about taking a bath. The only part that she does not like is washing her hair if you get water in her face. But when it does happen she wants you to give her the towel and dry her face. She has been doing this at the pool also if she get her face wet. Now when you tell Ailise that it is time to get her PJs and go take a bath she will go to her room open her drawer where her PJs are get some out then go to the bathroom door and say baba.

**Blue's Clues and Elmo are still her favorite shows to watch. But the funny thing is that she likes to watch Elmo when she is at Meme and Poppa's and watch Blue's Clues when she is at home. On the weekend she wants to put in one of her Blue's Clues DVDs and let it play. She does not sit and watch all of sometimes but she wants it on so she can stop and watch it when she wants. Whenever one DVD stops she starts jabbering wanting a new one turned one.

**She is pretending all the time and loves to play with her dolls and stuffed animals. She is a going to be a multi-tasker it seems because it always doing or holding as many things as she can at one time. As soon as she wakes up in the mornings or from a nap she has to have at least three things in her arms.

 ** Ailise def know what a camera is what to do when she sees it. She will stop whatever she is doing and walk toward the camera and say cheese. She is such a ham. It is becoming more and more difficult to get candid shots of her doing things if she sees the camera. It does not have to be a digital camera either I can get my phone out to take a picture and she will do the same thing.

**Ailise is def getting taller. She can know reach all of the door knobs and reach into alot of the drawers in the house. 

** This little girls laughter is so much fun to hear. She is starting to laugh more and more. Sometimes you just have to look at her and she will laugh. Her little laugh is one of those that you would know anywhere is her and is such a warming and cheering laugh. No matter what kind of day we have had or mood that we are in all she has to do is laugh and it will bring a smile to our face.

**Ailise is such an outgoing and affectionate little girl. I still to this day do not think she has ever meet a stanger that did at least say HI to as we pass. She loves to gives and kisses. I took her with me to retirement party at work and I honestly think she hugged almost everyone that was there at some point. Her hugs and kisses are so great. I especially love when she wraps her arms around my neck and just hangs on for a minute.

** Ailise is finally getting more teeth. She has partially gotten in 3 of her two year molars and she 8 or 9 other teeth finally. We were starting to wonder if she was only going to have 6 teeth forever. At this rate I joke that she is going to be teething until she is 5.
