First of many catch up post

Clifford the Big Red Dog the Musical came to the Glema Mahr Center on a Tuesday night back in the spring and Ailise and I went to see it. I was a little hesitant at first to take her because she does not even sit at home thru a movie so I had no clue how we would make it thru this performance. We had bought he a Clifford dog at Kohls on trips so I let her take it with her to the show. Boy am I glad that I did because everything there was so expensive.

She did really well they had two parts with an intermission so that helped. She did really good the first part she sat in my lap most of the time and would dance along with the songs and watch. About 10 minutes before intermission she started to get restless and wanted to get down and move around so that’s what we did durning the break. Luckly the second part was only 15-20 minutes long we made it thru the whole thing.

It was a good show and now we know that she can sit still its just if she wants to .

Holiday World Halloweekend

This past Saturday we went to Holiday World for Halloweekends. I won tickets from CBS 44 photo contest and was so excited to go. We have not been to Holiday in many years and of course Ailise has never been. Wade’s mom went with us also and this was her first time also. They had most of the rides open, a hayride, corn mazes, trick or treat trail, pumpkin decorating, special Halloween shows. The weather was kind of cool and windy put it was not unbearable and we were still able to enjoy everything. The lines were very short to nonexistent on most rides so we were able to ride everything that we wanted to ride and most of them multiple times. We had so much fun and with the lack of lines if this event continues it may be a fall tradition for our family.

I think Ailise’s favorite rides were Turkey Whirl or as she called it chicken ride that goes round and round, the carousel of course and the old time cars. She loved everything that she rode and was very sad that she could not ride everything.

Wow It Has Been a Long Time

My post have been few and far between this year but there has been so much going this year and I just have not taken the time to slow down and write about all of it. I want to try to do better and try to go back and write some post about all of the fun things that have happened this year.

Ailise is so full of energy and life right now. She is at such a fun and trying stage. When I say full of energy I mean so full energy. There are some days that I wonder if she is ever going to slow down or fall asleep. I know by the end of the week her mimi is exhausted from keeping up with her all week. Sometimes Ailise will say, "Mommy, Mimi is tired." I will say, " Why is she tired?" and her response is, "Cuz I wear her out." It is so funny to hear her say but it is true.

She is also at the stage right now on the weekends where she does not want to take a nap. She would much rather stay up late and sleep in sometimes until 9 o'clock or later and not nap. If her daddy is up she wants to be up she loves to do everything that her daddy does right now and eat whatever he is eatting. Every day after dinner Ailise has to share a ice cream bar with daddy. One night a couple weeks ago I thought she was asleep and we were sitting in the living the room watching TV and Wade had made some popcorn when I heard Ailise's door open so I walked over there and told her everything is ok and to go back to sleep. She looked up at me with her sleepy eyes and said, "Mommy I smell something." I told her it was OK it was just daddys popcorn and she took off running to living room and sat in Wade's lap and said, "Daddy I want a bit of your popcorn." So she sat there and shared popcorn with him until it was all gone before she would go back to her room.

Ailise is in a phase right now where she always want to cook something. She will tell me some evenings that she wants to make daddy some cookies or she is always saying that she wants to make noodles. After she helps cook something wants to help you clean up and wash dishes also. She always loves to help no matter what you are doing.

Her imagine had taken off so much along with her ability to communicate in sentence and carry on a real conversation. Some of the things that she says makes me stop and think did she really just say that. Its beena few months ago we all had went to Louisville and we were in the Disney store and Wade showed her an Ariel doll and asked if she knew what it was. With a serious look on her face she said, "It's a mermaid." Wade said, "How do you know that?" her response was with that tone of duh you should know this was, "These fins right here daddy." It was so funny.

Wade had to go to Indy for 5 days for work last  Thursday so we had a lot of mommy daughter time. We missed him a lot but we def stayed busy. We spent some time with maw and granpa, watched movies, went to the pumpkin patch, had dinner with papaw and yoyo, and went shopping in Nashville.

Saturday was the first time that Ailise had ever been to a pumpkin patch and she really liked it. We went to Stanley's pumpkin patch and it was a beautiful afternoon to go. I really wasn't sure what all they there because it had been several years since I had been but they had a play area for kids with a corn pit, a hay maze, hay bales to climb on, tires to play on, a crawl thru starw maze, hayride, pumpkin picking and a corn maze. Ailise loved the corn pit that is all that she wanted to do. She attempted the crawl thru maze but did not make it far because it was getting her hands dity and she said it was to dark. She did enjoy the hayride and the pumpkin picking. She could not decide which pumpkin she wanted in the field  and she kept falling over all the vines but she still enjoyed it. I am hoping we can get back out there and take some good fall pictures because the scenery was wonderful.

Shopping with Ailise is a totally different experience then shopping was before her but it is fun. She loves to go shopping but she wants to touch everything or hide in racks. But the highlight of her shopping rip is if she gets to ride the rides at mall or if they have carosel or play area. Of course Opry Mills has all three so her day was made. She also got to go in the Aquarium restuarant and look at all the fish which she loved. But she told me very quickly that she did not want to go in Rainforest Cafe because we ate the a couple months ago and she hated it. She thought it was to loud so still to this day she will tell you the elephants were to load and scared her. The main reason I went shopping was to look for Ailise some new fall/winter clothes because all of hers are way to short, suprise suprise. I think she has grown like 3 or 4 inches over the summer because all of her pants are about that much to short and her shirt sleeves are to short also.

One night when we were over at my mom's house my mom had found some of my old halloween costumes, pageant outfits and baton outfits. I wanted Ailise to try them all on at first she did not want to but after telling her if she tries them on then she could have a popscile. My mom could not believe they all fit her because she says I was like 4 or 5 years old when I was wearing all of this and they already fit Ailise.
