Life with the Hogg Family: October 2011

Happy Fall everyone! The last few days it has started to feel like fall and allergies are going crazy so its def fall. Well I can not believe another month has already flown by and now in just a few short weeks the countdown to Christmas will be on. I know I say this a lot but I really don’t know where this year has went and how our little princess has gotten so big already. She will be 2 in less than 3 months now so I have already started planning her party. I am super excited about her party this time but I am trying to get as much of it planned and ready before the holidays because I know her birthday will be here in no time once the holidays start. This post will have alot more pictures than last moths but they will all be at the end.

In the middle of September Wade and I took a vacation just the two of us. It was really hard to leave Ailise but it was a nice getaway for us as a couple. We went to Disney World and had a blast. We stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge and I think that is nicest place we have ever stayed anywhere and we had a view of the animals from our balcony. Our trip did not get off to the best start because we both got sick Friday night before we left but a day or two later we pretty much back to our normal selves. We have def decided our next trip will be a one of the best trips because it will be Ailise’s first trip to Disney World JJ

Ailise is def getting big and more independent most of the time. We can tell that she has def had a growth spurt over the last few weeks. She can open and close our doors in the house using the door knob and she can reach the top of vanity in the bathroom to get things off it and she gets stuff off the top of the island in the kitchen.

A few weekends ago we were all Ailise’s her room playing and she walked out of the room and we did not hear her for a minute so we said, “Ailise were are you?” then she came back and was holding the package of chocolate chip cookies and saying, “Daddy cookie.” When he did not give her a cookie she sat in the floor and opened them herself. Then later the same day she disappeared again and came back with the box of JR Mints. I told her she could not have one til after we ate dinner and she looked at me and said, “No, Daddy min(mint)”. It was so funny.

Two weekends ago Wade had to be in Indianapolis for work again from Thursday thru Monday so Ailise and I had a girl’s weekend. We had planned on going to Indy again but plans changed at the last minutes but we def stayed busy all weekend. Saturday I worked on changing out her closet and we went to Kelby and Kylee’s birthday party at Fun 4 Kids. This was the first time she had been to Fun 4 kids and she really was not sure about it at first but once I showed her different parts of it she was hooked and had a blast. The only thing was that I had to crawl through all of it with her. Then Sunday we spent the day in Evansville and went to the zoo and did some shopping. Then Monday afternoon we went and got some pumpkins and Ailise colored hers with markers when we got home.

Ailise has such a personality, imagination and sense of humor. She now has different laughs that she does she has one that she will do when she is being a stinker we call it her evil laugh and it is so funny. She laughs so much now and it the best sound in the world. She will play and pretend with her babies and her kitchen set and she tries to turn almost anything into a phone.

She still loves Elmo, Dora, Minnie and Mickey, Blue’s Clues and sometimes she likes to watch Deigo. She will watch anything on Nick Jr and Disney Jr.

Ailise loves to color and draw. I think she would draw or color most of the day sometimes but we have to really watch her now because she has started wanting to color on other things besides her paper. She also has new love for stickers. I never realized how a sheet of Dora or Minnie stickers could entertain a toddler and keep her still in her high chair. It funny because it’s the simplest things that seems to entertain her the most.

She loves to walk around and say mommy and daddy and wait for you to respond. Then she will usually come give you a hug or laugh.

Every night now when we lay down she has to go through everyone that she can think of and I have to tell her that they are asleep and that she needs to go to sleep so mommy can go to sleep. She will go thru daddy, meme, papa, mawmaw(my mom), ganpa, oscar, kitty, elmo, dora, boots, map, backpack and any others she can think of or repeat.

Ailise still loves bathtime I think this girl could be part fish because she never wants to get out of the water. She has a blast playing with her toys and bubbles and splashing water everywhere.

Sleepy is still something comes and goes in spurts. For the most part she has been doing a lot better about going to sleep and sleeping thru the night. The last week or two for some reason she has been waking up at 3 am several days and will not go back to sleep so those have made for some very long days.

Ailise still eats pretty good except for vegetables. She has gotten where most nights she will eat something of what we are having instead of me having to make her a graduate meal or something and that has helped. She also wants to eat with a fork or spoon everytime she eats now. The vegetables she does not eat she makes up for with fruits and dairy and pasta, we try to get her to eat vegetables but the only thing she will eat sometimes are green beans. But we shall keep trying.

Ailise loves to be outside. She loves to swing or go for a walk or ride her Dora four wheeler. She gets so mad when she has to go inside.

Ailise talks all the time. We still can’t understand everything that she says but we are understanding more and more. She is also starting to more words together. Some new things that she says are careful, umkin(pumpkin), move kitty, foor(floor), cuer(color), choo choo, tree, leaf, star, Oh Man. She will also try to sing with me when I sing to her at night, it is so sweet because she does not sing every word but she knows when her words are at. She sings almost all of Happy Birthday, some of Twinkle Twinkle and Rock a bye baby. She can show you where the sky is.

We have gotten Ailise’s Halloween costume and are so excited for to wear it around this year. She is trying to say trick or treat but we still have a few weeks to work on it.

Well that is all of things I can think of right now to update you right now. I am sure there is more I could write but I can’t think. I will try to do a special update for Halloween when it gets here. Everyone enjoy this fall weather and have a fun and safe Halloween!!
