2 month update

I know I have not been very good at keeping the blog updated so this will probably be a long entry. Ailise is now 2 months old (officially 9 weeks and 4 days). She is growing so fast and changing all the time. At her two month check up last week she weighed 9 lbs 8 ounces and was 23 ½ inches long. The doctor was very happy with that she is gaining about a pound a month and he said that is good. She also got her first shots that day. She was not happy about that at all. She did pretty good with them though she was a little cranky for a few days but now she is back to herself.
She is usually a really good girl, but she will let you know when she is hungry. When that time comes she has no patience to wait for her bottle. She has started smiling and her smiles are so cute. Wade gets her to smile the most and he also got the first smile. She defiantly loves to see her daddy. Now we are anticipating her first laugh, I would almost bet that Wade gets the first one of those also but that’s ok. She has started making noises and coos and she has also started making bubbles.
She loves bath time now. At first she didn’t like but now she really enjoys it and she has started to kick her legs and move her arms to splash some which is super cute to watch. Wade tried to get a video of her but when he got the camera out she stopped and just wanted to watch him and the camera.
She is a really good sleeper I know we are very lucky with that. She started sleeping about 6 hours straight when she was 3 ½ or 4 weeks old. Now you can almost count on her sleeping from 10 pm until 6 am. Which we enjoy enjoy this.
Tummy time is not one of Ailise’s favorite things. She gets very mad when you lay her on her tummy and she has figured out already how to get herself rolled back over. She will do tummy time if she is laying on your chest but that is it. She holds her head up really good. She has been doing this since she was born but now she can hold it up for along time and look around. She also follows things really well. She will turn her head to follow Wade wherever he goes and she loves to watch the fan.
Her swing has been a life saver several times. She likes to be in her swing and she will usually fall asleep in it. So when she is fighting sleep this is usually the only thing that will work. She also likes her vibrating bouncy seat and her activity mat. She will lay on her activity mat and hit at the toys on it and “talk” to them for an extended time sometimes.
Today was my first day back to work. It was a really long emotional day but we both survived and hopefully it will get easier each day.
